RESTORE+ represented at key meeting of the Convention of Biological Diversity

Empowering Nationwide Public Participation for Restoration Assessment in Indonesia
Jakarta, 26 November 2019 RESTORE+ launched a national campaign to identify landscape restoration potential by using the tailormade crowdsourcing platform Urundata built by the project consortium. Urundata allows communities to be involved in efforts to restore forests and landscapes through mobile applications and thus contribute to scientific assessments supporting policy making efforts. |

RESTORE+ Mid-term meeting
Foz do Iguaçu, 25-27 September 2019 Halfway into the project, the RESTORE+ project consortium invited national stakeholders from Brazil, government representatives from Indonesia, as well as representatives of the broader international restoration community to participate in the project’s mid-term meeting in Foz do Iguaçu. Second RESTORE+ crowdsourcing campaign launched
Palembang, Indonesia, 28 August 2019 | Samarinda, Indonesia, 5 September 2019 Since the launch of the first RESTORE+ crowdsourcing campaign in April this year, hundreds of students in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan supported forest restoration through the data collection platform Urundata. During the campaign’s official closure events, first results were presented and the second round of crowdsourcing was formally launched. |

Launch of crowdsourcing campaign Urundata
Palembang, Indonesia, 11 April 2019 RESTORE+ launched its pilot crowdsourcing campaign in Indonesia. The campaign uses a mobile application that allows contributions of the crowd to scientific assessments and supporting policy-making efforts. The platform is initiated by RESTORE+ consortium partners in Indonesia, with a vision that it be a nationally owned, collaborative data collection platform. hh |

Sub-National Consultation Meetings in Indonesia
Palembang, 19-20 April and 15-16 May | Samarinda, 22-23 May & 13 November 2018 RESTORE+ organized three workshops to consult relevant stakeholders of East Kalimantan and South Sumatra provinces on the proposed methodology for identifying landscape restoration areas. The events aimed to strengthen mutual understanding and engagement on forest and landscape restoration targets and strategies as well as collect learning and experience from the parties. |
RESTORE+ presents in IPEA'S Workshop
Brasília, 27 March 2018 IPEA (Institute of Applied Economic Research) organized a workshop that focused on the responsibility of the agricultural sector in Brazil to mitigating climate change. The RESTORE+ team gave presentations on the impacts of implementing the Forest Code in Brazil, of extending the soy moratorium to the Cerrado biome, and on the importance of improving land use classification tools. National Consultation Meeting in Indonesia
Jakarta, 28 November 2017 RESTORE+ organized a workshop to consult relevant stakeholders on planned approaches to assess landscape restoration options that will generate spatial data and quantitative information for policy makers. The event aimed at building common understanding on sustainable landscape restoration planning in Indonesia and seeked synergy between the RESTORE+ project with similar on-going or planned projects. |

Joint capacity building activity in Indonesia
Bogor, 22-25 August 2017 RESTORE+ aims to inform key policies in Indonesia by identifying specific degraded areas with accompanying scenarios for restoration and sustainable utilization. RESTORE+ participates in the 2017 Bonn Challenge Meeting
Palembang, 09-10 May 2017 The Bonn Challenge is a global effort to bring 150 million hectares of degraded and deforested land into restoration by 2020 and 350 million hectares by 2010.
